  1. I wish the Cardinals would have given him more of a chance instead of Tony Cruz. Anderson was the first player I even got a in person auto from that I did not pay for. He signed a ball back in 2007 at a Springfield Cardinals game

  2. I think they lost control of Anderson when his contract was up and they didn't want to pay him more than the minimum. They still had Cruz under their thumb and he speaks Spanish which I think played a major part. They even traded Cruz for another Spanish-speaking catcher which further leads me to reason that is the underlying factor in Anderson's quick departure and Cruz's longevity with the club. On the topic of in-person autographs, my first in-person autograph that I didn't have to pay for was Stan Royer. I got it in Olney, Illinois. Stan and Shannon Coppel were signing at a card show held at OCC. They both signed a ball and Stan signed his 89 Bowman card. He was in the A's organization at the time, but man was I excited when the Cardinals got him.
