2010 Topps Chrome Signatures Bryan Anderson RC

     Bryan Douglas Anderson was born in Thousand Oaks, California on December 16, 1986. The Cardinals drafted Bryan out of high school in the 4th round of the 2005 free agent draft. He played 25 games over two seasons (2010 and 2012) for the Cardinals. Anderson was granted free agency after the 2012 season and, since, has seen limited playing time for the Chicago White Sox and Oakland A's,

1992 McDonald's/Pacific #2 Rip Collins

     James Anthony Collins was born in Altoona, Pennsylvania on March 30, 1904. He played sis seasons for the Cardinals and was a member of the Gashouse Gang. Rip was a three-time All-Star and member of two World Series Champion Cardinals teams (1931 and 1934). Collins passed away on April 15, 1970 at the age of 66.

2001 Fleer Tradition #119 Fernando Tatis

     2001 was the last year Tatis appeared on base cards in a Cardinals uniform. He was traded at the end of the 2000 season to the Montreal Expos for Dustin Hermanson and Steve Kline. Hermanson didn't amount to much, but Kline did pretty well for the Cardinals. More importantly, the trade allowed Placido Polanco to move over to third base and improve his stock. Polanco averaged better than .300 at the plate and was a major piece in the trade with Philadelphia to bring Scott Rolen to St. Louis.

1981 Topps #541 Steve Swisher

     Steven Eugene Swisher was born on August 9, 1951 in Parkersburg, West Virginia. The Cardinals acquired Steve in a trade with the Chicago Cubs on December 8, 1977. As a Cardinal, Swisher was a backup catcher who never hit over .280. He wasn't much of a run producer either, collecting only 15 RBI and 17 R in three seasons with the Cardinals. We're certain Steve's proud that his son Nick is having a little more success as a Major Leaguer than he did.

Card of the Day: 2/2/16

1959 Topps #37 Gene Green

     Gene Leroy Green was born in Los Angeles California on June 26, 1933. He played three seasons for the Cardinals from 1957 through 1959. In 1958, Green's best season as a big league ballplayer, he batted .281 with 13 home runs, 55 RBI, and 47 runs scored. Gene was traded to the Baltimore Orioles for Bob Nieman after the 1959 season. Mr. Green passed away on May 23, 1981 in St. Louis, Missouri.
